FY-0752 Slurry Mixture Wet Wheel Abrasion Tester

Slurry Mixture Wet Wheel Abrasion Tester

1.  Product Overview

The FY-0752 wet wheel abrasion tester is a specialized equipment used to measure the water resistance performance of emulsified asphalt slurry mixtures (such as micro surfacing and slurry sealing layers), which meets the requirements of the JTG E20-2011 (T0752-2011) standard for testing asphalt and asphalt mixtures in highway engineering. Evaluate the wear resistance and water stability of wet mixtures by simulating the wear effect of wheels.

2.  Working principle

  • Wear test: Soak the formed slurry mixture specimen in water and rub its surface with a rotating rubber wear wheel (applying a certain load) to simulate actual traffic wear.
  • Quantitative indicators:The wear resistance of the mixture is expressed in terms of the amount of wear per unit area (g/m ²), and the lower the value, the better the performance.

3. Technical Parameters

Power supply voltage: 380V-250V
Quality of wear head: 2.27kg ± 20g
Time controller: digital display adjustable
Wear head rotation speed 140 / min revolution 61 / min
Circular template: 360 * 360 * 6.4mm
Middle round hole diameter: 280mm

4. Operation steps

  1.  Preparation of test specimens:
Form the slurry mixture test piece according to the specifications and cure it for the specified time (usually 6d or 16h oven accelerated curing).
  2. Soaking treatment:
Soak the test piece in a 25 ℃ constant temperature water bath for 1 hour.
  3. Installation of test specimens:
Fix the specimen on the wear tester tray and adjust the height of the wear wheel to make it contact the surface of the specimen.
  4. Start testing:
Set the wear time (usually 5 minutes), start the instrument, and the wear wheel begins to rotate.
  5. Result calculation:
Weigh the difference in mass of the specimen before and after wear, and calculate the wear amount:

Wear amount

5.  Precautions

  1. Calibration requirements:
Regularly check the hardness and load of the wear wheel to ensure compliance with standards (it is recommended to calibrate every 3 months).
  2. Sample processing:
After soaking, it is necessary to wipe the surface with a damp cloth to avoid additional moisture affecting the weighing accuracy.
  3. Instrument maintenance:
Clean the wear wheels and trays after testing to prevent residual mixture from corroding the components.
When not in use for a long time, the worn wheels should be unloaded and stored to avoid rubber deformation.

6. Application scenarios

  • Highway engineering: Evaluate the durability of micro surfacing and slurry seal mixtures.
  • Research and testing: Optimize the formula of emulsified asphalt and the design of aggregate gradation.
  • Quality acceptance: Performance verification of mixed materials before construction.

7.  Common problem handling

Fault phenomenon Possible reasons Solution
The wear wheel does not rotate Motor malfunction or poor power supply contact Check the circuit and contact the manufacturer for repair
Abnormal high wear amount Insufficient hardness or load deviation of rubber wheels Replace the worn wheel or recalibrate the load
The instrument operates with loud noise Bearing oil shortage or loose drive belt Add lubricating oil/adjust the tension of the drive belt
