Purpose
It is used to determine whether there is excessive asphalt in the emulsified asphalt slurry seal mixture and control the upper limit of asphalt dosage. It is often used together with the wet wheel abrasion test to determine the optimal asphalt dosage of the emulsified asphalt slurry seal mixture, which meets the test requirements of "0755-2000" in the "JTJ052-2000" standard.

Test operation
1. Adjust the distance between the connecting arm shaft and the caster to 61cm. The wheel must be centered to ensure that the frame remains balanced when the wheel moves.
2. Center the counterweight box to ensure that the center of gravity is in the vertical direction of the wheel axle.
3. Place the cleaned load wheel on the scale, with the connecting arm parallel to the frame, and then load the counterweight box to adjust the total mass to 56.7kg.
4. Lift the wheel, place the sample against the positioning pin, install it on the instrument, and clamp it with the ingot nut.
5. Place the load wheel on the sample, start the instrument to make the wheel reciprocate on the sample 1000 times, with a rolling frequency of 44 times/min. During the rolling process, if the sample is found to be sticky or has obvious bright spots, a small amount of water can be sprinkled to prevent the wheel from sticking to the sample.
6. After rolling 1000 times, stop the instrument, unload, remove the sample, rinse the surface of the sample with water, and dry it in an oven at 60℃ to constant weight.
7. Take out the sample from the oven and weigh it (M1), immediately reinstall the sample in the original position of the instrument, put the sand frame on the sample and align it, weigh 200g (82℃) of hot sand and introduce it into the sand frame to quickly flatten it, and put the steel cover in the middle of the sand frame.
8. Put the load wheel on the steel cover, start the instrument and roll it 100 times at the same frequency.
9. After rolling 100 times, stop the machine, remove the sample, brush the floating sand on the sample gently with a brush, then weigh the total mass of the sample and the adsorbed sand (M2), and calculate the amount of sand adhered to the unit area of the emulsified asphalt slurry seal mixture by the formula.
Precautions
1. After using the instrument, turn off the power in time, and use the bracket to support the load wheel for cleaning and maintenance.
2. Check whether the gearbox is short of oil every 3-6 months so that it can be refueled in time.
