SYD-0621 Asphalt Standard Viscometer operation method

1. Water filling: Open the annular water tank cover, slowly add water to the water tank, so that the water level is about 20mm from the upper edge of the water tank, and cover the annular water tank cover.
2. Adjust the temperature controller: Plug the temperature control probe plug, put the probe into the screw hole of the water tank cover, and set the temperature of the temperature controller to the required degree according to the test temperature requirements.
3. Select the sample tube: Select the sample tube with the required flow hole diameter and place it in the round well of the water tank, plug the flow hole with the specified plug, and place the evaporating dish under the flow hole. Except for the 10mm flow hole using a 12.7mm diameter ball plug, the remaining flow holes all use a 6.35mm diameter ball plug.
4. Inject the sample: When the water bath in the annular water tank reaches the test temperature, heat the sample to 2℃~3℃ higher than the test temperature and inject it into the sample tube. The amount is based on the mark on the rod when the liquid level reaches the vertical ball plug rod, and cover the sample tube cover.
5. Insulation and stirring: Keep the sample at the test temperature in the water tank for about 30 minutes, open the sample tube cover, gently stir the sample with a thermometer, and when the sample temperature is ±0.1℃ of the test temperature, adjust the liquid level to the mark on the ball plug rod, and continue to keep warm for 1min-3min.
6. Place the measuring cylinder: Remove the evaporating dish under the flow hole, place the measuring cylinder on the round base, and pre-inject 25ml of soapy water or mineral oil into the measuring cylinder.
7. Start the test: Lift the ball plug and hang it on the side of the sample tube with the help of the mark. When the sample flows into the measuring cylinder to 25ml, press the timer button. When the sample flows out 75ml, press the button again and record the time.
8. Record the results: record the time it takes for 50ml of the sample to flow out in seconds (s), which is the viscosity of the sample. The same sample should be tested at least twice in parallel. When the difference between the two measurements is not greater than 4% of the average value, take the integer of the average value as the test result.

SYD-0621 Asphalt Standard Viscometer Maintenance and Care

1. Clean the instrument: After each use, the asphalt and other debris left on the instrument should be cleaned in time to prevent it from drying on the surface or components of the instrument and affecting the accuracy and normal use of the instrument. In particular, pay attention to cleaning the sample tube, flow hole and measuring cylinder.
2. Check the components: Regularly check whether the sample tube, ball plug, thermometer and other components are damaged, deformed or worn. If there is any problem, replace them in time. Check whether the heating tube is working properly. If there is a fault, repair or replace it in time.
3. Calibrate the instrument: Regularly calibrate the temperature control system and timing system of the instrument to ensure accurate temperature control and precise timing.
4. Storage environment: The instrument should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated room to avoid moisture, rust and corrosion.
