Purpose and scope of application
The emulsified asphalt storage stability tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the "Emulsified Asphalt Storage Stability Test" (T0655-1993) in the "Test Procedures for Asphalt and Asphalt Mixtures in Highway Engineering" of the Ministry of Communications of the People's Republic of China. It is suitable for determining the storage stability of various types of emulsified asphalt.
Instructions
Preparation: Wash the stability test tube with solvent (gasoline can be used), washing liquid and clean water respectively, and dry it in an oven at a temperature of 105℃±5℃. After cooling, plug the outlets of the upper and lower branches with stoppers. Filter about 300mL of uniform emulsified asphalt sample through a 1.18mm filter sieve into the sample container.
Sampling operation: Stir the filtered emulsion sample with a glass rod and slowly inject it into the stability test tube so that the liquid level reaches the 250mL mark on the tube wall. When injecting, be careful not to have bubbles on the branch tube, and then plug the tube mouth with a stopper.
Standing observation: Place the sealed stability test tube containing the sample on the test tube rack and let it stand at room temperature for 5 days and nights. During the standing process, frequently observe whether the emulsion has stratification, precipitation or discoloration, and make records and record the room temperature changes within 5 days. If the produced emulsion is planned to be used up within 5 days, the sample for the storage stability test can also be left standing for 1 day and night.
Sampling and weighing: After standing, gently pull out the stopper of the upper branch tube, and about 50g of the sample flowing out of the upper branch tube mouth is connected to an evaporation residue test container. Then unplug the stopper of the lower branch tube mouth, release all the samples above the lower branch tube, and flow into another container. Then fully shake the sample below the lower branch tube, tilt the stability tube, and let the remaining sample in the tube flow out from the lower branch tube mouth. About 50g of the sample is connected to the third evaporation residue test container that has been weighed. Weigh the upper and lower parts respectively, accurate to 0.2g.
Calculation results: Determine the evaporation residue content PA and PB according to relevant methods, and calculate the storage stability of emulsified asphalt according to the formula Ss=│PA-PB│, and take its absolute value.
