Main structure of instrument:

The instrument is mainly composed of a base, a motor, a rotating feed bowl, a collector, an electronic governor, and a brake device. When working, the motor directly drives the feed bowl to rotate, so that centrifugal force is generated. The pitch solution dissolved by solvent in the feed bowl is thrown out through filter paper, thus producing asphalt and mineral separation for the determination of its content

Usage method:

Preparation:

1. According to T07722-93 asphalt mixture content test (centrifugal separation method), take the asphalt mixture sample from the truck in the mixing plant and apply it to the metal pan for proper mixing. When the temperature drops below 100℃, take it with a large beaker The sample mass of the mixture is about 1000g (M) (high limit for coarse-grained asphalt mixture, low limit for fine-grained asphalt, middle limit for medium-grained asphalt), accurate to 0.1g.

2. If the sample is obtained from the road by the drilling machine method or the cutting method, the sample should be completely dried by the electric fan, and the sample should be taken when it is properly heated in a microwave oven or in a loose state, but not hammered to prevent the aggregate from breaking.

Test steps:

1.Inject trichloroethylene solvent into the beaker containing the sample, immerse it, record the amount of solvent, soak for 30 minutes, use a glass rod to stir the mixture properly to fully dissolve the asphalt.

Note: It can also be soaked directly in the centrifugal separator.

2.Pour the mixture and solution into the centrifugal separator, use a small amount of solvent to wash all the adherents on the beaker and glass rod into the separator.

3.Weigh the clean circular filter paper to an accuracy of 0.01g. Note that the filter paper should not be used repeatedly, and it cannot be used if it is damaged. When the stone powder adheres, it should be cleaned with a brush.

4.Put the filter paper on the edge of the separator, cover it tightly, and put a recovery bottle at the outlet of the separator. The upper mouth should be sealed to prevent the outflow solution from being lost in mist.

5.Turn on the power, turn on the switch, and the three-digit number displays 000 indicating that the machine is normal. Press the start button, the separator starts to work, and the working process is at low speed for 20 seconds (at this time, you can see the motor rotating from the middle of the machine. If it does not rotate, you can fine-tune the low speed adjustment on the rear panel to make it rotate slowly). Medium speedfor 20 seconds(The same, adjust the medium speed to make the speed higher than the low speed). High speed for 140 seconds, automatically stop after a total of 180 seconds .

6.Add new solvent from the hole in the upper cover. After 3-5 minutes, press the reset button and then the start button. The separator will automatically complete again. Do this for several times until the outflow of the extract becomes clear and yellow.

Note: Each time adding trichloroethylene should not exceed the soaking capacity, generally about 200ml.

No more than 10 starts per hour.

7.Remove the top cover, take the circular ring filter paper, evaporate and dry it in a fume hood or indoor air, then put it in an oven at 105±5℃to dry, weigh the weight, and the weight gain (m2) is part of the mineral powder.

8.Take the aggregates out of the container carefully, put them in a drying oven at 105±5°C after evaporation in a fume hood or air (usually 4h), then put them in a drying oven to cool to room temperature, and weigh the aggregate mass ( m₁).

9.Use a pressure filter to filter the asphalt solution in the recovery bottle, and the weight gain of the filter paper m₃ can be obtained as the mineral powder leaked into the filtrate. If there is no pressure filter, the combustion method can also be used.

The steps for measuring the quality of mineral powder

1.Pour the extract in the recovery bottle into the measuring cylinder and measure it to 0.1 mL (Va) accurately

2.Stir the extract thoroughly, take out 10ml (Vb) and put it into the crucible, heat it properly on the hot bath to make the solution sample turn dark black, burn it into a residue in a high temperature furnace (500-600℃), take out the crucible cool down.

3.Pour a saturated solution of ammonium carbonate into the crucible at a dosage proportion of 5ml per 1g of residue, let it stand for 1h, and place it in a oven at 105±5℃ to dry.

4.Take it out and cool it in a desiccator, weigh the mass of the residue (m4).

Matters needing attention and maintenance

1.Filter paper must not be reused to ensure testing accuracy.

2.Before use, check whether the centrifuge rotation is normal, whether the main machine is stable, whether the lock bolt on the collector cover is fastened, and read the instructions carefully before operation.
