Key points for operation and maintenance
Operation steps:
First, prepare coarse and fine aggregates and fillers according to the specified grading and dry them; weigh 500g of the total weight of the mixture and put it into the mixing pot, add appropriate amount of water and mix well, then add quantitative emulsified asphalt and mix for 1 to 3 minutes; place the annular test mold on the asphalt felt, pour the mixed slurry mixture and scrape it flat (select a test mold of appropriate height according to the type of sealing material). Start the stopwatch, demould the sample after initial setting and restart the time.
Next, place the initially set specimen under the pneumatic rubber pad of the adhesion test instrument and let it stand for 15 minutes; use a bicycle air pump or air compressor to apply pressure to the instrument.
When the pressure gauge of the instrument shows 0.72Mpa (the pressure of the rubber base on the specimen is 193KPa at this time), set the torque hand measuring force gauge to zero and cover the upper end of the cylinder. Twist 90-120 degrees smoothly and horizontally within 0.7-1 seconds and read the torque meter reading; raise the rubber base and clean the bottom.
Repeat the above steps every 15 minutes. If the curing time is long, the interval can be extended to 30 minutes for one test. Stop when the maximum torque is reached and the torque is constant.
Record the time when the maximum torque is reached, which is the curing time. The curing time plus the initial setting time is the "early traffic opening time" of the slurry mixture.
Maintenance:
If the instrument is not used for a long time, the piston rod should be moved every half a month to prevent it from getting stuck. If the piston is too tight, lubricating oil should be added; at the same time, the torque wrench should be turned several times a month to ensure its normal operation, extend the service life of the instrument, and ensure that the instrument is in the best working condition at any time.
